Constant Pressure a better option for me and Why???
As we enter the spring season we now find ourselves with several options to suit our
watering needs. The options vary from the simple to the complex and can seem overwhelming. One of the biggest questions
we find ourselves faced with this season is ....
Why should i choose constant pressure aka Variable Frequency Drive System for my home , irrigation system or
business??
Whats the difference???
Why is it better??
We Recieved numerous
compliments in our 2006 season when we proudy introduced our new lines of pumps and controllers into our selection.
The worlds top pump manufacturers hae been working diligently at turning the tables in offering consumers some of the greatest
pumping technology ever seen. This is giving us the ability to offer more choices than ever before. Here
at Quality Water Systems we want all of our customers to be educated consumers and we make it our mission to provide
all the information needed to make confident and eduacated decissions in regards to your pumping needs.
For any home or business that relies on a well for there primary source of water the pumping system need to
be selectly chosen for the particualar needs of that consumer. There are many factors that need to be taken into serious consideration
when choosing your pumping system.
How long do you plan on staying at your current location. Constant pressure systems have a soft start feature
built in so when your system starts up there is no aggresive torque as there is with a standard system. As you ask yourselves
what does this mean long term; we are expecting this systems life span to significantly increase from the typical 7-15 year
life span of the standard system. The less agressive starts and stops means less wear and tear on the motor so we have great
expectations in regards to the longevity of this wonderful system. Another great advantage of the soft start feature with
this system is improved energy efficiency. The rapid torque starts with the standard system draws a lot of amperage. The soft
start feature draws less AMP's resulting in a lower electrical bill saving you money.
Another strong
benefit with this sytem is that it eliminates the pressure fluctuation within the home or irrigation system. This
is especially noticed in Irrigation systems if the irrigation is not set up properly by an irrigation specialist
who knows wells. Irrigation systems matched with standard pumping systems were never able to be perfected until now.
Constant Pressure Pumps eliminate the need for Balanced zones, Pump Cycling issues, and several other pump concerns.
Constant Pressure Pumps adjust to what the demand is and as long as it is within the system design limits it will maintain
a steady pressure +/- a few pounds. In short what does it mean? Less Service Calls, Better performance,
and the ability to know that your investment is working to its full potential and paying off. With built in diagnostics and
protection you can't go wrong it almost like having your own personal wellguy fulltime. The constant Pressures advanced Features
,Smart Reset® technology(on Franklin Models) with, Surge Protection, Underload, Undervoltage, Locked Pump, Open
Circuit, Short Circuit, Overheated controller all work in conjunction with one another to potentially stop small problems
from arising before they turn into larger expenses.
So how's it do it all? The control box in conjunction with
a pressure transducer or sensor adjusts at the times of when water is being called for. The Control Box converts its
inlet power as 230volt single phase 60Hz power as it comes standard from the power company and converts it to 230v three
phase power which transmits to the motor in a Variable Frequency 30-80Hz and Drives the motor at different speeds
causing the pump to maintain constant pressure within the system. A Standard Pump is capable of spinning at 3,450rpm
full time a Variable Speed is capable of spinning between approx.1,800-4800rpm. Also by converting to three phase
power the size of the wire and tank size can be reduced. In the end it will save you money on intial purchase and potential
future replacement expenses.
